Willie's Cacao – Milk of the Stars Surabaya
✔ In stock & ready to ship
A rich, creamy milk chocolate made from single-estate cacao from Surabaya — bold, silky and beautifully balanced.
There’s something instantly captivating about this bar: a milk chocolate that feels indulgent yet unexpectedly refined. The flavour opens with creamy sweetness, then deepens into caramel warmth and quiet complexity — the hallmark of single-estate cacao grown in Surabaya’s volcanic soils and crafted bean-to-bar in Devon.
Willie’s commitment to purity and provenance shines through in every detail. With just cacao, raw cane sugar and natural cocoa butter, the recipe lets the flavour speak for itself. It’s the kind of craftsmanship we’re always drawn to: honest, meticulous and rooted in a genuine love of chocolate.
In both our Signature Box and Classic Box, this bar adds a smooth, elegant hit of indulgence. Its richness balances beautifully with more savoury elements, rounding out the collection with a moment that feels quietly luxurious and unmistakably special.
Willie’s “Milk of the Stars” is milk chocolate with real depth — made from single-estate cacao grown in the lush, volcanic soils of Surabaya, Indonesia. At 54%, it sits in that perfect middle ground: creamy and comforting like milk chocolate, but with enough cacao to deliver complexity, richness, and a lingering caramel warmth.
Made bean-to-bar in Devon using just cacao, raw cane sugar, and natural cocoa butter, this chocolate showcases Willie’s craft at its best. No vanilla, no emulsifiers, no unnecessary ingredients — just beautiful cacao handled with care.
It’s luxurious, melt-in-the-mouth and full of flavour — the kind of bar you savour square by square.
In the 1990s, adventurer and chocolate-maker Willie Harcourt-Cooze bought a cacao farm in Venezuela and began his lifelong pursuit of flavour. That journey led him to create Willie’s Cacao — one of the first true bean-to-bar chocolate makers in Britain.
Today, from his factory in Devon, Willie roasts and refines cacao from the world’s best single estates, turning them into pure chocolate that captures the soul of each origin. His passion for terroir and traditional craft has earned him a cult following among chefs, makers, and chocolate lovers alike.

Excellent
Great items and wonderful presentation. Sent early to avoid disappointment. The team were super accommodating when an extra order of hot sauce was added to avoid a delay. We loved all the products.

These biscuits were delicious and packaged beautifully. Customer service was also excellent, I had a slight problem with delivery dates but Brittany sorted it immediately and made sure we had our biscuits on time for Burns Night. Would definitely recommend, thank again!

Excellent gifting service - highly recommend. For people who are looking for a high quality, curated hamper rather than something full of mass-produced chutneys that will gather dust at the back of your cupboard. The handwritten note adds to the personal touch, and the free delivery was very efficient. Don't give your money to The Man, support The Local!

We were given a hamper from The Local as a present after having a baby and I can honestly tell you it was the best thing.
Incredibly luxurious and full of things that you won't find anywhere else, plus it was delivered in less than 24 hours.
I never normally write reviews, but I love this business and I love this concept and will be a long time customer so thought I would make an exception and show my support.

Best. Hampers. Ever! Seriously, I couldn't recommend these more. I bought two beautiful Christmas hampers for family and they absolutely loved them. All the produce is top quality and I've gone on to buy the coffee and wine for myself. So nice to support a growing local business too 🙏 Thanks for a great service.

The produce from their hamper was incredible. Very high quality produce, delivered on time and packaged beautifully. This was a perfect gift from one of our business partners. We especially enjoyed the local sparkling wine and my wife is in love with the quality of the coffee. If I could give 6 stars, I would! Will be contacting The Local in the new year for some gift ideas for our suppliers.
