Woodchester Valley – Cotswold Classic 2022
✔ In stock & ready to ship
A blend of Seyval Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay & Pinot Gris Made in the traditional method, this new vintage from Woodchester Valley continues the quintessential flavours of their unique sparkling wine and captures the essence of the Cotswolds in a glass.
This sparkling wine stood out for its clarity of purpose: it comes from one estate, one vision. Woodchester Valley grow all their grapes on their own vineyards in the Cotswolds — no external fruit, no compromise — and that single-estate approach gives the wine a distinct identity you don’t often find in England.
The Cotswold Classic 2022 blends Seyval Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, made in the traditional method. It offers bright acidity, fresh fruit and that subtle mineral signature of the Cotswold limestone. On the nose you’ll find baked apple and brioche; on the palate there’s crisp citrus and a whisper of salinity, culminating in a long, satisfying finish. It’s English sparkling wine at its best — refined, confident, with serious craft behind it. And on a recent trip with friends, we found ourselves ordering it everywhere we could; it’s one of those wines you keep coming back to.
In both our Signature and Celebration boxes, it brings a bottle that truly marks the moment — sophisticated, proudly British, and unquestionably worthy of the occasion.
Tasting Notes:
Cotswold Classic is a blend of Seyval Blanc, Pinot Blanc & Pinot Gris, but for the first time with the addition of Chardonnay. As usual there is a bright refreshing acidity, beautiful fruit and a sense of fun, but this release is all grown up.
There is more concentration, more complexity & a perfect balance. The nose shows the most wonderful baked apple & brioche aromas with a touch of lemon peel. The palate is well-balanced with ripe apple pie flavours combined with citrus notes. It has a touch of salinity and a long, complex and satisfying finish.
Food Pairings:
A delicious crowd-pleaser, this is perfect apéritif but also works well with a wide range of foods, especially a crab ceviché, salted edamame beans & fresh poké bowls with a lime dressing. Why not even try it with an avocado & lime prawn cocktail.

Great items and wonderful presentation. Sent early to avoid disappointment. The team were super accommodating when an extra order of hot sauce was added to avoid a delay. We loved all the products.

These biscuits were delicious and packaged beautifully. Customer service was also excellent, I had a slight problem with delivery dates but Brittany sorted it immediately and made sure we had our biscuits on time for Burns Night. Would definitely recommend, thank again!

Excellent gifting service - highly recommend. For people who are looking for a high quality, curated hamper rather than something full of mass-produced chutneys that will gather dust at the back of your cupboard. The handwritten note adds to the personal touch, and the free delivery was very efficient. Don't give your money to The Man, support The Local!

We were given a hamper from The Local as a present after having a baby and I can honestly tell you it was the best thing.
Incredibly luxurious and full of things that you won't find anywhere else, plus it was delivered in less than 24 hours.
I never normally write reviews, but I love this business and I love this concept and will be a long time customer so thought I would make an exception and show my support.

Best. Hampers. Ever! Seriously, I couldn't recommend these more. I bought two beautiful Christmas hampers for family and they absolutely loved them. All the produce is top quality and I've gone on to buy the coffee and wine for myself. So nice to support a growing local business too 🙏 Thanks for a great service.

The produce from their hamper was incredible. Very high quality produce, delivered on time and packaged beautifully. This was a perfect gift from one of our business partners. We especially enjoyed the local sparkling wine and my wife is in love with the quality of the coffee. If I could give 6 stars, I would! Will be contacting The Local in the new year for some gift ideas for our suppliers.
