Spill Tea is on a mission to make your daily cuppa genuinely great — full-flavoured, ethically sourced, and made with complete transparency. These teabags use high-quality, loose-leaf grade tea sourced directly from smallholder farmers in Rwanda, who are paid significantly above the Fairtrade minimum price to ensure a better income and more resilient communities.

Meet the people behind Spill Tea

Lou co-founded teapigs in 2006 and Sofia joined just after. They worked together to grow it into a much-loved brand. 

Lou was a tea buyer and taster for Tetley before that so between them, they’ve worked in tea longer than they like to remember. 

They've made an everyday tea that tastes like good tea should taste; fuller, bolder, brighter. The kind of tea you'll want to drink everyday. And it pays farmers more. 

They're starting small, but big things start that way.

Rather than relying solely on certifications, Spill believes lasting change comes through long-term relationships with the people who grow their tea. Every decision—from sourcing and blending to packaging and communication—is guided by a commitment to honesty, better quality and ensuring more value stays with the farming communities at the very beginning of the supply chain.
